Payroll Officer (Job Share) - 7 or 14 hours per week (Job Share Opportunity)

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team on a job-share basis. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of both our weekly and monthly payrolls while maintaining compliance with statutory legislation and company policies.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional seeking a flexible, part-time role within a supportive team environment.

Please note that this is an office based role at our Hoddesdon office.

About Our Role

  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
  • Prepare, input, and process payroll data for allocated payrolls.
  • Check and reconcile payroll outputs prior to BACS submission.
  • Review payrolls processed by other team members to help ensure BACS deadlines are met.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries in an efficient, professional, and confidential manner.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure payroll information is received within required deadlines.
  • Support the Payroll Manager and wider payroll team with ad-hoc duties and projects as required.

About You

  • Demonstrable payroll experience.
  • A good understanding of statutory payroll legislation.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience processing manual payroll calculations.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
