Payroll Specialist
Payroll Advisor – UK & Europe (London Office)

As an employee-owned firm with 9 European offices, we foster open culture, collaboration, and growth. Our Finance Team manages all accounting, payroll, and financial reporting, ensuring accurate and efficient operations across the business.
In this role, you’ll take full ownership of UK payroll while coordinating European payrolls with local teams and service providers. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our global workforce is paid accurately and on time, while improving key processes with a proactive, data-driven approach.
Your Responsibilities
UK Payroll
- Manage the end-to-end monthly UK payroll process
- Be the primary contact for all UK payroll-related queries, including:
- Pensions
- Parental leave/pay
- Employee benefits
- Tax calculations and reporting
- Prepare UK year-end reporting, including P11Ds
- Process payroll journals and payments in Workday and through online banking
European Payrolls
- Work closely with external multi-country payroll providers to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Handle payroll queries for local offices across Europe
- Ensure adherence to all statutory payroll requirements in each jurisdiction
Reporting & Controls
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date record-keeping for financial reporting
- Update salary forecasts and other earnings-related schedules
- Coordinate and manage the Frontier Bonus Scheme, including monthly reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, GDPR policies, and internal controls
- Continuously improve payroll processes, systems, and efficiency

Essential Requirements
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, with advanced use of XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables
- Proven UK payroll experience (2+ years recommended)
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with payroll and HR systems, ideally experience with Workday considered an advantage
- Self-motivated, proactive approach and a willingness to support cross-functional teams
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with multi-country payrolls and outsourced providers
- Familiarity with Sage Payroll (or similar UK payroll software)
- Knowledge of European payroll legislation
- CIPP qualification (Certified Payroll Professional) – in-progress or completed
- Fluent in additional languages, especially German (an asset in our European team)
