Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for our UK-based employees in a fully remote environment. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll operations while maintaining compliance with UK payroll regulations and HMRC requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly/weekly payroll for UK employees accurately and on time
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
- Manage PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP)
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and RTI (Real Time Information) submissions
- Maintain and update employee payroll records
- Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations
- Coordinate with HR and finance teams on employee data changes
- Support audits and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Administrator in the UK
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, NI, and HMRC processes
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, ADP, Xero, or similar)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup

Preferred Qualifications
- CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification or equivalent
- Experience managing payroll for multiple entities or large employee bases
- Familiarity with pensions auto-enrolment
- Experience in a remote or global work environment
