Payroll Specialist (6 Month Fixed-Term Contract)
This people-orientated organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their reputable and complex business on a 6-month FTC (Fixed-Term Contract) with the potential for extension. This role is ideal for a confident payroll professional who can manage end-to-end payroll processes while quickly embedding themselves in a fast-paced hybrid work environment (2-3 days in the office).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high-level service to external clients while maintaining streamlined day-to-day payroll operations.
- Execute end-to-end payroll cycles, including:
- Weekly and four-weekly payroll processing
- Ensuring accuracy and adherence to client deadlines
- Handle statutory payment calculations (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.) and complex adjustments.
- Work collaboratively with a team and liaise with external clients to address payroll queries.
- Process adjustments, including:
- Holiday pay
- Bonuses
- Overtime
- Salary changes
- Starter and leaver transitions
- Complete P45/P46 starter checklists and ensure proper RTI (Real-Time Information) submissions.

Requirements
- Proven experience in UK payroll.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work with tight deadlines and high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and delegation skills, including a friendly phone manner.
- Oracle experience is desirable but not essential.
- Availability for immediate or short-notice work.
