About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Payroll Systems Analyst to be the subject matter expert for our Workday Payroll solution. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative HR Systems team where you'll play a key role in maintaining, enhancing and optimising Workday Payroll, ensuring accurate, compliant and efficient payroll processes that support the wider business.

Working closely with core internal functions and external partners, you'll lead on payroll-related configuration, system improvements, release management and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring an excellent experience for colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain and enhance Workday Payroll functionality to meet business requirements.
  • Support payroll processes across Time & Absence, Compensation and Benefits, ensuring all module dependencies are understood and managed.
  • Analyse business requirements and translate these into scalable Workday solutions.
  • Manage payroll-related incidents, defects and enhancement requests, prioritising work based on business impact.
  • Lead testing activities including regression testing, UAT and implementation of system changes.
  • Support Workday's release cycle by assessing new functionality, coordinating testing and recommending improvements.
  • Produce and maintain Workday payroll reports, reconciliations and management information.
  • Ensure payroll data integrity, governance and compliance with GDPR and payroll legislation.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, test scripts and process guides.

About You

  • Minimum 2 years' experience configuring or supporting Workday
  • Strong understanding of Payroll, Time & Absence, Compensation and Benefits within Workday.
  • Experience configuring Workday business processes and supporting payroll-related system changes.
  • Good understanding of payroll legislation, governance and payroll controls.
  • Experience managing Workday releases, testing, UAT and defect resolution.
  • Experience gathering requirements, analysing business processes and delivering system improvements.
  • Ability to produce Workday reports and support payroll reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of GDPR, data quality and information security principles.
  • Experience working within Agile or structured project delivery environments.

  • Hybrid working, 2-3 days per week office-based with remainder working remotely
  • Salary up to £55,000 + benefits
