PBL Tutor & CBL - Medicine - (Tooting)

MBBS Programme

The MBBS Programme at City St George’s admits approximately 280 students annually across 5-year and 4-year graduate-entry routes. Early years focus on clinical sciences alongside developing communication and clinical skills. The post holder will facilitate Problem Based tutorials for small groups of first-year MBBS4 and Transition Year students, supported by the CBL/PBL Section lead Small Group and programme team.

Role Requirements

  • As part of your new role you will be responsible for:
  • Lead and deliver high-quality PBL tutorials, supporting and mentoring diverse students through inclusive, adaptive approaches.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and monitor student progress.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, including designing assessment question banks and refining PBL cases.
  • Drive quality improvement aligned with MBBS education strategy.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, guiding educational discussions and decisions. Support departmental administration and ensure safe operations, while adhering to institutional policies and promoting compliance among students and visitors.

Application Requirements

To be successful in your application you will have:

  • A successful track record in facilitating small group tutorials within the Higher Education Sector
  • Accurate worker and high attention to detail including when under pressure
  • A passion for delivering inclusive education and experience working with students
  • Strong organisational, time management and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and personal initiative to solve problems and are a self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised
