Regional PBS Practitioner – Adult Social Care

Learning Disabilities / Autism / Mental Health - Supported Living and Outreach

£38,000 + 45p mileage reimbursement
Home-based with regional travel covering London and the South
Full-time 37.5 hours per week, Permanent

*To be considered for this role, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle, alongside a qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) *

Compass Associates are delighted to be working with a national provider supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs across England and Wales. We are seeking an experienced PBS Practitioner to join their highly regarded team. This is a home-based role with regular travel across your allocated region, with a preference for candidates based around the Hackney/London area.

It is an excellent opportunity to join a highly experienced PBS team supporting approximately 1,500 people across England and Wales, delivering proactive, person-centred behavioural support through a no physical restraint approach that prioritises quality of life and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of up to 20 individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours of concern across residential and supported living services
  • Carry out comprehensive behavioural assessments, functional analyses, and develop evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support Plans
  • Support complex care services, including high-acuity 2:1 support packages, working closely with operational managers and frontline teams
  • Deliver engaging training programmes across Positive Behaviour Support, autism, ProSkip, PCAS, values-based practice, and related topics
  • Coach and mentor support teams to embed practical, sustainable behavioural strategies that improve quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern
  • Promote a proactive, non-restrictive approach to behaviour support, focusing on prevention, conflict avoidance, and reducing restrictive practices
  • Work collaboratively with operational colleagues, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to achieve positive outcomes for the people supported

Skills & Experience

  • Hold a recognised Positive Behaviour Support qualification, such as BILD Level 4 or 5, Tizard PBS, Bangor PBS, or equivalent
  • Ideally have a minimum of two years' experience working within a PBS Practitioner role
  • Confident completing functional assessments and identifying the function of behaviour to develop effective interventions
  • Resilient, proactive, and comfortable working directly alongside operational teams within community and residential settings
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to deliver practical, person-centred solutions
  • Experience within learning disabilities, autism, education, ABA, or similar environments will be considered where a recognised PBS qualification is held
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
