Compassionate Care Group - PBS Practitioner (Full-Time)
Are you a passionate PBS professional, dedicated to improving the lives and outcomes of children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs?
Compassionate Care Group is a national care provider, bringing the warmth of home and expert support to communities across the UK. We are committed to creating safe, nurturing, and child-centred environments where children and young people can thrive, build independence, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes through specialist support tailored to their individual needs.
We're seeking an experienced PBS Practitioner to join our team!
In this dynamic role, you'll work collaboratively within a supportive team to provide high-quality support for children and young people with complex needs. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation of PBS interventions that improve quality of life, support emotional wellbeing, enhance engagement, and promote positive developmental outcomes. This role requires resilience, a deep understanding of children's behaviours of concern, trauma-informed practice, and a commitment to child-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to comprehensive functional behavioural assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes and functions of behaviours of concern demonstrated by children and young people.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualised PBS plans in collaboration with children, young people, families, carers, education providers, and support staff.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and guidance to residential care teams and support staff in the effective application of PBS approaches that meet children's individual needs.
- Deliver high-quality training on PBS, trauma-informed practice, Active Support, and child-centred approaches.
- Collaborate effectively with children, young people, families, schools, social workers, therapists, staff teams, and external professionals to promote positive outcomes and ensure the best possible care and support.
- Actively participate in clinical supervision and support the development of practice leadership across children's services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation in line with organisational policies, best practice guidance, children's legislation, and regulatory requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
