PCB Assembly Technician
PCB Assembly Technician – Clevedon, North Somerset
Location: Clevedon, North Somerset Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: 38.5 hours per week across 4.5 days
About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated PCB Assembly Technician to join our growing manufacturing team in Clevedon.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience in PCB assembly and soldering, who thrives in a hands-on production environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
Reporting directly to the Stores Manager, you will collaborate across teams to support:
- Printed circuit board (PCB) assembly, inspection, and stock control
- Ensuring manufactured products meet strict quality standards
- Driving production efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
The ideal candidate will be reliable, easy-going, and able to work independently as well as within a team—following instructions accurately and meeting production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble PCBs in line with company standards and specifications
- Carry out through-hole and surface mount soldering
- Perform accurate component placement and assembly
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure right-first-time quality
- Diagnose and rectify assembly faults
- Monitor component stock levels and raise requisitions for shortages
- Support production scheduling and stock control activities
- Maintain accurate production and inventory records
- Adhere to ESD procedures and quality standards
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe
- Support Lean 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
- Undertake other reasonable duties as required

About You
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in PCB assembly and soldering
- Background in electronics manufacturing or production environments
- Strong understanding of electronic components and PCB layouts
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to follow technical instructions and engineering drawings
- Good manual dexterity and precision working skills
- Strong organisation and time management
- Ability to work both independently and in teams
- Reliable, proactive, and self-motivated approach
Desirable
- Relevant technical qualification or training
- IPC certification (e.g., IPC-A-610)
- Experience in electronics manufacturing
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
- Knowledge of Lean 5S principles
