Compensation: £15.00 / hour
Our PCV Drivers are responsible for providing a professional driving service supporting our clients and service users. In addition to a safe home-to-school transport operation, you may also operate the passenger lift and assist the Passenger Assistant with the service users as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the vehicle in a safe manner, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits. Report any fines or tickets received to the office immediately.
- Conduct mandatory vehicle checks before every journey to a standard acceptable for the road. Notify the office of any defects.
- Ensure all passengers and wheelchair users are secured properly with the necessary safety equipment.
- Maintain fuel levels for the journey, refuelling as instructed.
- Keep the vehicle clean inside and out on a minimum weekly basis.
- Remove and replace seating when required.
- Park the vehicle correctly in the depot, preferably in pre-allocated bays.
- Operate the passenger lift and assistive equipment while ensuring safe passenger boarding and disembarkation.
- Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient, informative manner.
- Support the Passenger Assistant as needed.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong understanding of working with individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to deliver the service with patience and a level-headed attitude.
- Full unrestricted D driving licence (auto restrictions acceptable) with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Possession of a CPC qualification card with mandatory training kept up-to-date.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience driving a bus or coach.
- Hold or be willing to obtain a DVLA Digital Tachograph driver’s card.
- Willingness to undergo and pass a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
- Current and valid D4 medical examination report.
