PDI Technician Role – Colchester Volvo (Permanent)

Location: Colchester Volvo Hours:
- Full days: Monday – Friday (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Regular 1-in-3 Saturday shifts (8:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
Job Overview
We’re recruiting a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Technician to join the Lookers Colchester Volvo workshop team. In this role, you’ll:
- Prepare new and used vehicles for sale, including electric vehicles (EVs)
- Work alongside experienced technicians in a fast-paced environment
- Report directly to an Aftersales Manager for continuous support
You’ll earn a competitive starter base salary of £31,000 plus £5,880 uncapped bonus potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out thorough vehicle health checks using advanced diagnostics
- Conduct service work following manufacturer guidelines and customer requirements on new and used vehicles
- Ensure warranty repairs comply with brand specifications and accurately record them
- Test drive customers’ vehicles to confirm faults are fully resolved
- Complete all required paperwork to an excellent standard

Person Specification & Requirements
- Minimum qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent experience)
- Entry-level candidates welcome – Fresh qualifications just as applicable
- Full, valid UK driving licence to drive dealership vehicles
- The ability to work independently but also as part of a dynamic team
- Motivated, ambitious, and eager to learn EV/Hybrid specialities – we provide training!
- Relevant brand or non-brand automotive experience
