Peer Support Apprentice (North & Central London)

Peer Support Apprentice

Location: North and Central London

Working Hours: 30 hours per week

Contract Type: Apprentice

Salary: £10 per hour


About the Role

We are excited to offer five unique opportunities for passionate individuals to join our team as a Peer Support Apprentice in North and Central London. This role is ideal for someone eager to use their lived experience to support vulnerable individuals facing mental health challenges, substance misuse, or learning disabilities, while pursuing a recognised Health & Social Care qualification.

As a Peer Support Apprentice, you’ll work across community and justice settings, making a real impact on people’s lives.


What You’ll Be Doing

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one or multi-agency support to individuals based on their care plans.
  • Assisting with client care planning and risk management alongside Criminal Justice colleagues.
  • Collaborating with police, probation officers, and youth offending teams in custody, court, and community settings.
  • Delivering emotional support, guidance, and engagement to service users and their families/carers.
  • Promoting access to appropriate community services while adhering to lone working guidelines.
  • Recording service information accurately and within agreed timelines.
  • Attending education one day per week to work towards a recognised qualification.

You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team, valued for your lived experience and unique perspective.

We’re looking for a motivated, compassionate individual with:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent). If not, you must be willing to work towards passing Functional Skills in both alongside the apprenticeship.
  • A willingness to complete at least a Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care.
  • Preferred: Personal lived experience of mental health issues and/or the criminal justice system.
  • Good IT skills, including competence in Microsoft Office.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential).
