Pension Administrator – Permanent, Full-Time

We’re seeking a Pension Administrator who is curious, eager to learn, and motivated by helping others. This role is a permanent, full-time position based at our Birmingham office (B31, Longbridge), with a hybrid working arrangement.

Note: We have roles at varying levels—please still apply if you are early in your career or seeking a more senior appointment.

A Snapshot of Your Day

  • Preparing and checking computer-generated benefit calculations and member correspondence
  • Maintaining accurate member records and ensuring data integrity
  • Interpreting scheme documentation, including rules, booklets, and announcements
  • Completing manual calculations and supporting more complex casework
  • Managing member activities in line with agreed service levels
  • Identifying and escalating issues, offering practical solutions where appropriate
  • Supporting and maintaining Information Security procedures in line with Barnett Waddingham policy
  • Assisting with ad hoc tasks and supporting colleagues as needed

Requirements & Desirables

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • The Award in Pension Essentials or progress towards other relevant PMI qualifications (e.g., CPC – Certificate in Pension Calculations).
    • A willingness to pursue further professional qualifications would be beneficial, but proven experience in the role is preferred over academic achievement.
  • Experience in defined benefit pension administration.
  • A clear aptitude for pensions administration and interest in developing technical knowledge.
