The Apprenticeship: What You’ll Do
Pension administrators play a critical role in: ✔ Supporting scheme members to ensure they receive the correct pension benefits ✔ Providing advice on rights, benefits, and decisions for retirement
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Handling communication (emails, letters, calls) with clients, members, and advisers
- Processing pension payrolls, including:
- Net pay calculations
- Payment arrangements
- Liaison with tax offices
- Year-end return preparation
- Generating computerised benefit calculations and corresponding correspondence
- Attending team meetings to support prioritisation
- Participating in interesting project work
Qualification & Training
- You’ll train for the Workplace Pensions Administrator (Level 3) apprenticeship with dedicated support:
- Skills coach
- Friendly mentors
- Line managers
- Gain pension administration expertise, system proficiency, and client communication skills.
Career Progression
- Strong development pathways available after qualifying:
- Senior administrative roles
- Advanced technical certifications
- Many apprentices progress to senior positions

Entry Requirements
