Pension Administrator (Permanent, Full-Time – Hybrid – Birmingham, B31 Longbridge)

We’re seeking a Pension Administrator who is curious, eager to learn and motivated by helping others.

This position is based at our Birmingham office at B31, Longbridge, with options for a hybrid working model.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Pension Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and verifying computer-generated benefit calculations and member correspondence
  • Upholding accurate member records with emphasis on data integrity
  • Interpreting scheme documentation, including rules, booklets, and announcements
  • Completing manual pension calculations and handling complex casework
  • Managing member activities aligned with agreed service levels
  • Identifying/escalating issues where necessary while offering practical solutions
  • Supporting Information Security procedures per Barnett Waddingham’s policies
  • Assisting with ad-hoc tasks and providing colleague support when required

Requirements

We’d like to hear from you if you have:

  • An interest in or progress with pension-related qualifications, including:
    • The Award in Pension Essentials
    • CPC (Certificate in Pension Calculations) or equivalent (A willingness to further develop qualifications is considered an advantage — however, relevant experience takes priority)
  • Experience in defined benefit pension administration
  • A proven aptitude for pensions, with a commitment to technical skill development
