Pension Administrator – Projects

Locations: United Kingdom (Leeds or Liverpool) | Schedule: Full-time (Hybrid: 2–3 days per week) | Posting Date: 04/13/2026

About the Role

We are seeking a Pension Administrator – Projects to join our Bespoke Initiatives team, working remotely 2–3 days a week from either our Leeds or Liverpool office.

A typical day includes:

  • Ensuring precision in reviewing colleagues’ work to comply with scheme rules, procedures, and legislation
  • Assisting in simple and complex pension scheme projects, including data cleansing and rectification
  • Leading projects from start to finish, aligned with deadlines and budgets
  • Coordinating trace and existence check projects, liaising with tracing agencies, and analysing responses
  • Targeted complex calculation development, such as building and testing benefit specifications
  • Writing project status reports for trustees following data audits
  • Collaborating with Client Relationship Managers to ensure seamless project progress

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate data validation: Spotting and correcting discrepancies to ensure compliance
  • Project delivery: Overseeing timelines, budgets, and adherence to project plans
  • Data rectification: Conducting complex parallel payroll runs, audits, and cleansing exercises
  • Trustee communications: Reporting findings and next steps transparently
  • Regulatory knowledge: Researching scheme documentation and UK pension legislation, e.g. DC/DB schemes
  • Team growth: Providing constructive feedback to improve skills and knowledge
  • Volume processing: Checking high-risk bulk mailings and complex correspondence

Requirements

  • 2+ years of pensions experience, with expertise in both:
    • Defined Contribution (DC) schemes
    • Defined Benefit (DB) schemes
  • Minimum qualifications:
    • GCSEs or A-levels (All subjects accepted)
    • Or a relevant degree/certificate, such as:
      • Certificate in Pensions Calculations (CPC)
      • PMI examinations progress
    • (Experience can substitute where deemed appropriate.)
  • Technical skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Analytical aptitude to dissect issues and systemic problems

Desirable

  • Experience in client implementation projects
  • Boolean logic and data filtering skills
