Part-time Pensions Actuary | Birchmoor | Remote (North of England)

Zatori is delighted to partner with Birchmoor, a specialist pensions consultancy and independent trustee firm that advises sponsors and acts as a trustee of pension schemes across the UK.

Founded by experienced pensions professionals Jon and Ruth Sharp, Birchmoor provides independent trusteeship and bespoke advice to sponsors on the full range of pensions issues. Their approach is deliberately personal, pragmatic and relationship-led, helping clients focus on the issues that genuinely move the needle.

As the business continues to grow, Birchmoor is looking to appoint a Qualified Actuary on a part-time basis.

This is an opportunity to join a boutique consultancy and independent trustee firm where you will have direct exposure to clients, trustees and senior decision-makers from day one.

The role is fully remote, with occasional travel to trustee and client meetings, as well as training days. Ideally, candidates will be located in the North of England.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
