Pensions Communications Consultant
Location - London or Winchester with hybrid working as per departmental requirements (currently a minimum of 40% (2 days per week)
Our growing team of communications experts are looking to hire their next communications superstar!
We’re looking for someone special, who enjoys working with clients to help identify and solve their communication challenges, and who impresses them with delivery that is on time and to budget. Like us you have a love of words and an eye for design, and you’ll enjoy finding creative ways to engage people with complex topics, capture attention and deliver key messages through a range of media. Working as part of a team of experts, you’ll bring enthusiasm to the creative process, an understanding of the 3 trillion UK pensions industry, and build great client relationships. In return we offer a range of challenging client opportunities, flexible working and the training and experience you need to bring your skills to the next level.
LCP’s communications team sits within the wider LCP business, ready to support all our clients – DC, DB and hybrid, large or small, open or closed – with communication expertise. We work with some of the biggest companies in the world (from large British banks to charities, international hotel groups to fast-food retailers and everything else you can imagine) and although it’s all about pensions, our work is surprisingly varied. We make sure we understand the audience, define the messages, then deliver them to the right people using the right channels – print, web, video, posters, podcasts and anything else we think might work.

- Bring creative flair and a strong visual eye - you generate fresh ideas, understand how design supports clear communication and can work with designers to produce impactful materials
- Have excellent organisational skills - you can keep multiple projects on track and adapt quickly when priorities change, even under pressure
- Are self-motivated and willing to go the extra mile - including working extra hours to finish a project when required or travelling to attend client meetings or events
- Are confident presenting ideas, and generating new business opportunities as a result
- Can work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
- Can build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels, using confidence and clear communication to negotiate and resolve issues
What will you be doing?
As a Communications Consultant you will be:

These materials might include newsletters, website copy, member guides and booklets, educational material including short videos, tutorials and seminars, email nudges and postcards as well as annual member benefit statements
- Reviewing drafts produced by other members of the team, feeding back comments and ensuring changes are made in line with the project timescales
- Managing workload and campaigns, including the development of project plans and liaison with client and internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Briefing the LCP Brand & Design team to develop high-quality designs for less complex projects, from concepts to completion of finished artwork
- Checking your own work for errors, inconsistencies and improvements before sharing with more experienced team members for review
- Following LCP procedures and best practice, particularly when producing external materials or handling client data
- Supporting the development of new products and services for both digital and print media
- Supporting the new business process
- Contributing to the development of client communication strategies and campaigns
- Managing the production of communications, for example by liaising with web-developers or instructing printers

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
