Pensions Support Clerk

About The Role

At West Northants Council, it’s about our people and the difference they make. As a Pensions Support Clerk, you’ll join our Pensions Service and play an important role in helping to deliver an efficient, accurate and customer-focused service to members of the Local Government Pension Scheme.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with detailed information, providing great customer service and supporting colleagues as part of a collaborative team. Whether you already have experience in pensions administration or are looking to develop your administrative career in a specialist area, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, grow and make a meaningful contribution to a service that supports thousands of members and employers.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide vital administrative support across the Pensions Service
  • Help to ensure pension records and documentation are maintained accurately and efficiently
  • Process pension-related information
  • Respond to enquiries from members and employers
  • Support the administration of pension governance meetings
  • Help to deliver a range of projects and service improvements

Working closely with colleagues across the service, you’ll support the administration of pension scheme activities, maintain accurate records and provide information that helps members make informed decisions about their pension benefits. You’ll also play an important role in ensuring high standards of customer service while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with relevant legislation.

Experience in pensions administration or a similar administrative environment would be beneficial, but we are equally interested in candidates who have strong organisational skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
