We have an exciting opportunity for a People Advisor to join a people-focused organisation on a 12 month fixed term contract. Providing expert HR advice and support across a range of colleague and manager matters, this role is paying £36,651 and offers hybrid working, including 2 days working from home.

This opportunity will suit an experienced HR professional who is confident advising managers, building trusted relationships and supporting effective people practices.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing expert advice and support to managers and colleagues on a broad range of people-related matters, including recruitment and retention, performance, conduct, remuneration, retirement and absence
  • Managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and performance
  • Advising managers on sickness absence, long-term ill health, redeployment and early retirement, including attending review meetings and home visits where appropriate
  • Building trusted relationships with managers, leaders and trade union colleagues to promote positive employee relations and constructive working practices
  • Enabling leaders to deliver effective people performance management through recognised policies, procedures, data and systems
  • Supporting delivery of the People Strategy, corporate plans and transformation projects, including learning needs analysis and people development activity
  • Supporting apprenticeship programmes, including recruitment, selection, induction, absence and conduct processes, as well as activity linked to the apprenticeship levy

Experience required:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified
  • A strong track record of delivering an effective people advisory service and supporting managers with people performance practices
  • Sound knowledge of employment law, HR best practice and risk management within employee relations activity
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels
  • High levels of IT literacy, strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain confidential records accurately
