The People & Culture team
The People & Culture team is a strategic business partnering function for the firm, currently consisting of seven People professionals. With the people in the firm being our most important asset, the role and responsibility of the entire People & Culture team is to produce excellent work and support to the firm that will positively impact the people and the culture across the business, providing a platform for quality and excellence.

The role
The People Advisor is responsible for working to support managers across the firm to help build people capability and shape the firm’s culture. The People Advisor will develop and implement effective people strategies and activities within the firm and is responsible for providing high quality, proactive advice and guidance to the business groups on all aspects of the employee life cycle, people management and people led initiatives.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Facilitate and support change and help implement the firm’s people strategy.
- Conduct regular meetings with business services and legal groups, providing performance management guidance and support to managers.
- Work closely with the Senior People Manager and People Business Partners to resolve employee relations issues effectively.
- Provide policy guidance and review and implement new policies and procedures.
- Updating and analysing People metrics to produce reports identifying trends and solutions.
- Support and implement the performance review process.
- Assist with the graduate recruitment process including the assessment centres.
- Assist with the trainee solicitor programme including seat rotation, performance review and qualification process and provide support on ER issues for trainees.
- Support the Learning & Development Manager with the roll out of training programmes across the firm.
- Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programmes to ensure success.
- Lead, develop and implement DEI and wellbeing initiatives, supporting the tracking of objectives against strategic priorities and plans.
- Maintain knowledge of employment law, reducing risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Actively develops and coaches more junior members of the People Team.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills
- Previous relevant experience within a similar role.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build relationships as well as influence and challenge others to drive positive change.
- Ability to develop more junior members of the team and foster a collaborative working environment.
- Excellent administration and organisational skills and ability to adapt and manage multiple deadlines.
- Confidence to assess and question existing procedures and suggest efficient alternatives.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Positive, can-do attitude when integrating within the team.
- Knowledge of employment law.
- Knowledge of People policies and procedures.
Education & Qualifications
- Degree, CIPD qualified or equivalent experience.
