People Advisor | Private Hospital | Permanent | Spire Healthcare | St Mellons, Cardiff | On-Site, Full-Time
Spire Healthcare is recruiting a People Advisor to join our Patient Support Centre based in St Mellons, Cardiff. Working closely with the Hospital Director and People Business Partner, you will provide high-quality HR support and advice to managers and colleagues across the hospital.
About the Patient Support Centres
The Patient Support Centres provide clinically aligned administrative services across inpatient admissions, outpatient activity and self-pay pathways. The service supports the effective management of patient enquiries and booking processes on behalf of the hospitals it serves, ensuring accuracy and a high standard of patient experience.
The Role
As People Advisor, you will be the focal point for employee-related activity across the full employee lifecycle. You will provide first-line HR advice, coaching and guidance, supporting managers to deliver fair, consistent and compliant people practices while helping colleagues deliver Spire’s purpose every day.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and colleagues in line with Spire policies, procedures and best practice
- Support managers with employee relations matters including performance management, disciplinary, grievance and absence management, undertaking investigations where appropriate
- Coordinate recruitment activity, onboarding, induction and job-specific training
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring data integrity on Spire’s HR system (Florence)
- Coordinate learning and development activities and training administration
- Work closely with HR Shared Services, central HR and payroll teams to ensure employee changes are processed accurately and within deadlines
- Build strong relationships with heads of department and hiring managers, acting as a trusted HR contact
- Support ad-hoc HR and people projects as directed by the Hospital Director and People Business Partner
Who We’re Looking For
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in a People Advisor or HR role
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- A professional, confidential and solutions-focused approach
- Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
