People Apprentice (fixed-term) | £15,600 per annum
Duration of Apprenticeship: 18 Months fixed-term contract
Qualification awarded: CIPD Level 3
We’re looking for a motivated and organised People Apprentice to join our People Team and develop a strong foundation for a future career in HR.
In this role, you’ll support a wide range of people processes, including recruitment activities, onboarding, maintaining employee records, payroll coordination and responding to basic people queries, while working towards a recognised qualification.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience, learn best practice, and build confidence in employment legislation and HR operations. If you’re eager to learn, proactive, and excited to grow in the People profession, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee records, update HR systems, and support payroll processes
- Assist with recruitment tasks, including scheduling interviews and coordinating onboarding
- Respond to first-line colleague queries and escalate more complex issues when needed
- Support people-related projects to improve processes, systems and colleague experience
- Help apply best practice across the People Team, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and internal policies
- Provide support for Talent initiatives such as performance management processes, training coordination and engagement activities
- Contribute to reporting and analytics by helping monitor key people metrics and trends
- Shadow and support People Advisors and Talent Advisors to gain exposure to advisory and strategic people activities

Hours of work
Please note that this position will start on 7 September 2026
This is a full-time position with working patterns designed to support both our operational needs and your work-life balance. Our team typically collaborates during core hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
About You
Essential requirements:
- Some previous office or administrative experience (can include work experience, volunteering, or school projects)
- Basic understanding of HR processes and policies
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, proactive and eager to learn
- Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive information
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- A collaborative team player who builds strong relationships
Desirable requirements:
- Previous experience in HR or people services
- Familiarity with HR systems or Microsoft Office HR tools
- Knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion principles
