About the Role As a People Assistant (Recruitment & Administration Focus), you will play a key role in supporting end-to-end recruitment and essential People team administration across the business. You will ensure a smooth and positive experience for candidates and employees, while maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance processes.
This is a busy, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to build strong People and recruitment experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment Coordination Manage end-to-end retail recruitment including job postings, CV screening, interviews, and offer coordination Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the process

Onboarding & Team Member Administration Manage full onboarding process for all business roles including contracts, references, and new starter documentation Coordinate right to work checks, DBS checks, and other compliance requirements Arrange uniforms, ID badges, system access, and new starter setup Maintain accurate employee records and People systems Compliance & Documentation Monitor expiring employee documents and ensure compliance tracking is up to date Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate and well-organised People records Assist in ensuring People processes align with employment legislation and internal policies Training & Coordination Coordinate retail training bookings Support scheduling and logistics for employee learning and development activities
People Team Support Manage the People inbox, triaging queries and escalating where appropriate Provide administrative support to the wider People team as required Contribute to continuous improvement of People and recruitment processes About You Previous experience in HR or recruitment role Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail Confident communicator, able to work with managers and employees at all levels Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) is an advantage Discreet and professional when handling sensitive information
