People Business Partner
Permanent | Full Time | Hybrid
At Syme Drummond, we're delighted to have been exclusively retained by Right There to support the appointment of a number of People Business Partners, joining the organisation at an exciting time of investment and transformation within its People function. Following an exciting period of transformation, they're now looking to appoint a number of People Business Partners who will play a key role in shaping a modern, proactive, and highly visible People team.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind HR processes. It's for someone who wants to influence decisions, build relationships, and make things happen. This organisation isn't short of ideas. The foundations are already there. The ambition is there. The investment is there. Now they're looking for Business Partners who can help bring it all to life. People who enjoy turning strategy into action, building manager capability, and ensuring great ideas don't remain good intentions.
Why this role?
This is a genuine opportunity to help define what Business Partnering looks like. You'll join a newly designed People function that is moving away from a traditional, transactional HR model towards one that partners with leaders, influences organisational decisions, and delivers meaningful outcomes. You'll become embedded within your business areas, understanding operational challenges, coaching managers, and helping leaders navigate change with confidence. It's about becoming a trusted partner who builds credibility, earns influence, and helps people make better decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
