We’re looking for someone in their People career who:

  • Likes managing moving parts and keeping things on track
  • Cares deeply about building people experience and culture, working closely with all internal stakeholders on people matters.
  • Is comfortable owning delivery rather than waiting for instructions.
  • Wants to contribute to building long-term capability, not just tick off tasks.
  • You'll work across different priorities, different deadlines, different systems.

Who We Are

Slater Heelis is a leading full‑service law firm with a long‑established reputation for exceptional client service, deep expertise, and a people‑first culture. Based in Manchester, we’re proud of our heritage - but we’re equally proud of how we’re evolving.

We’re also a regional leader within Lawfront, a group of high‑performing regional law firms across the UK, accelerating growth, innovation, and creating long‑term value for our clients and people.

Lawfront invests in its firms - in people, technology, collaboration, and local acquisitions and our colleagues are some of the best in the profession.

The Opportunity

If you’re passionate about creating great employee experiences, enabling high performance, and shaping a modern People & Culture function, this role is for you.

Are you a current People Advisor, in People Ops and you are looking to take the next step in your career? If you’re driven, curious, and people‑centred, we want to meet you.

This role could be for you if you have:

  • 2–3+ years’ people advisory experience, partnering with stakeholders across the business
  • A modern, collaborative People & Culture mindset
  • A hands‑on, execution‑driven approach - you like getting things done

  • Comfort with ambiguity and change in a high‑growth environment
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build trust quickly
  • A proactive, ownership‑driven mindset
  • A commitment to personal development and continuous learning
  • Strong UK employment law knowledge and high attention to detail
  • Tech‑savviness and experience optimising digital tools and platforms

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
