Salary: £27,000 per annum

At Baltic Apprenticeships, we're looking for an ambitious Graduate People & Culture Coordinator to join our lovely People Team. This is more than an entry level HR role. It's a structured development programme designed to give you hands on experience across the full employee lifecycle while preparing you for a future career as a People Advisor.
You'll begin by developing strong foundations in HR administration and people operations before gradually taking on more responsibility as your confidence and knowledge grow. We'll also fully support you to complete your CIPD Level 3 qualification, giving you the knowledge and practical experience to build a successful career in HR.

What You'll Be Doing
During your first year, your focus will be on developing excellent HR administration skills while learning how a high performing People Team supports the business.
HR Administration & People Operations
You'll become an expert in the day to day administration that keeps our People Team running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining employee records using BambooHR.
- Producing contracts, letters and HR documentation.
- Supporting employee lifecycle administration including starters, changes and leavers.
- Maintaining accurate employee files and ensuring documentation is up to date.
- Responding to day to day HR queries from employees and managers.
- Supporting payroll administration by ensuring employee changes are communicated accurately.
- Scheduling meetings and coordinating People Team activities.

HR Audits & Compliance
A key part of your role will be helping managers maintain excellent people standards through regular audits.
This will include reviewing:
- Completion of 1:1 meetings.
- Return to Work meetings.
- Onboarding reviews.
- Growth Plans.
- Probation reviews.
- Performance documentation.
- Employee records.
- Organisational structures and reporting lines.
You'll identify gaps, follow up with managers and help ensure key people processes are completed consistently across the business.
Recruitment & Onboarding
You'll play an important role in attracting great people to Baltic by:
- Advertising vacancies.
- Building relationships with local universities and graduate networks.
- Screening applications.
- Coordinating interviews.
- Keeping candidates updated throughout the recruitment process.
- Supporting hiring managers.
- Delivering an excellent onboarding experience for new starters.
Employee Relations Support
As your confidence develops, you'll begin supporting the wider People Team with:
- Preparing HR documentation.
- Taking notes during employee relations meetings.
- Monitoring absence cases.
- Supporting performance processes.
- Tracking actions and ensuring follow-up activities are completed.
- Escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
Culture & Employee Experience
You'll also help create a brilliant place to work by supporting:
- Employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Company events.
- Recognition programmes.
- Equality, Diversity & Inclusion activities.
- Internal communications.
- Learning and development administration.
Your Development Journey
We've designed this role to help you build a long term career in HR.
Months 1-6
Your focus will be on learning our systems, policies and people processes.
You'll build confidence in:
- HR administration.
- Recruitment.
- HR audits.
- Employee lifecycle processes.
- Working closely with managers.
You'll also begin studying towards your CIPD Level 3 qualification.
Months 6-12
As your confidence grows, you'll begin taking greater ownership of your own business area while supporting managers more independently.
You'll continue developing your knowledge of:
- Employee relations.
- Performance management.
- Absence management.
- People reporting.
- Manager coaching.
Following successful completion of the role and your professional development, you'll have the opportunity to progress towards a People Advisor position and continue studying towards your CIPD Level 5 qualification.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with genuine enthusiasm for starting a career in HR.
You'll ideally have:
- A degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Law or another relevant subject.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence building relationships with a range of people.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A genuine passion for creating brilliant employee experiences.
Previous HR experience isn't essential. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, curiosity and potential, we'll teach you the rest.
