Job Description We are looking for a passionate and people-focused People & Culture Officer to join the pre-opening team at Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the colleague experience from day one, supporting the creation of an exceptional workplace culture within one of the UK's newest luxury destinations. As a key member of the People & Culture team, you will play an important role in supporting every stage of the employee journey, from recruitment and onboarding through to engagement, development and recognition. No two days will be the same, and you'll thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where flexibility, organisation and a genuine passion for people are essential.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support the People & Culture team with all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, administration, development and colleague engagement.
  • Welcome new colleagues to the business and help them settle into life at Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere.
  • Provide day-to-day People & Culture support to colleagues and managers, answering queries and offering guidance in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and compliance at all times.
  • Assist with employee engagement activities, recognition programmes and wellbeing initiatives that create a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Support the team with employee relations administration, ensuring matters are handled professionally and confidentially.
  • Champion company values, best practice and compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments, building positive relationships that support operational success.
  • Contribute to departmental projects and pre-opening activities as we bring Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere to life.

Qualifications What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within a People & Culture, Human Resources or People Administration role, ideally within hospitality or a luxury service environment.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or working towards a CIPD qualification is desirable, although relevant HR experience will also be considered.
  • Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and a high level of administrative accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to build positive relationships at all levels.
  • A genuine passion for creating outstanding colleague experiences and supporting people to succeed.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, integrity and discretion.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with experience using HR systems being advantageous.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced pre-opening environment.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to support colleagues wherever needed.

Location: On-site in Knutsford, Cheshire, North-West England (not remote)
