Role Information

Reference: REQ001495

Location: Bristol or Stroud Campus (travel required between campuses)

FTE Salary: Up to £35,586.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)

Actual Salary: up to £21,351.60

Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time

Working Hours: 22.2 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the People & Culture Team at SGS College as a People & Culture Partner.

The successful candidate will join an experienced, professional and friendly team who provide a high-quality HR service to the College. This role will be based at either our Stroud or WISE Campus however travel between Bristol and Stroud campuses will be required.

Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will be responsible for a population of areas within the College providing support and guidance to line managers in regard to employee relation case work such as disciplinary, sickness absence, performance management and grievances.

  • To guide and support the achievement and maintenance of best-practice HR management across the organisation
  • Supporting line managers with employee relation case work such as sickness absence, performance management, disciplinary and grievance.
  • The proactive provision of advice and guidance to line managers on a range of topics, including but not limited to performance management, resource planning, optimum recruitment methods and staff development
  • Keeping abreast of new concepts, developments and best practice regarding the development of human resources. Applying the knowledge where appropriate to ensure the organisation has effective processes to develop and deploy staff
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of changes in legislation/case law in order to implement timely updates of existing and also the development of future policies to support the strategic priorities of the South Gloucestershire and Stroud Group and to ensure legal compliance

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices and sound employment legislation knowledge
  • HR experience spanning the entire range of HR Disciplines, CIPD qualified
  • GCSE Maths and English grade C or above or equivalent
