About Us

At Founders Pledge, our mission is to empower entrepreneurs to do immense good with their charitable giving. Since launching in 2015, our community of over 2,200 members has pledged nearly $13.6B and donated $1.8B+ to the charitable sector in 45+ countries.

We provide end-to-end giving infrastructure, pioneering research, and access to a global network of experts. In other words, we help tech leaders become strategic philanthropists. Our members include founders and leaders behind companies such as Airbnb, UiPath, Dropbox, Skype, Spotify, and Uber.

We focus on deploying capital where it can achieve the greatest impact, guided by evidence, careful analysis, and long-term thinking.

About the Role

We’re currently looking for a People Director—an experienced senior people generalist—to own our people strategy end-to-end and play a central role in shaping the culture, performance, and growth of an organization doing some of the most ambitious work in philanthropy.

This is genuinely a two-in-one role: on the strategic side, you’ll be a key advisor to our CEO and senior leadership team, shaping org design, building the people strategy, and envisioning sustainable growth for a high-performing global team. On the operational side, you’ll manage day-to-day needs—overseeing payroll, employee relations, compliance across three jurisdictions, and ensuring the People function runs smoothly. Neither side is an afterthought—we need someone who thrives in both complexity and execution, moving seamlessly between them.

You’ll lead a distributed team of four across the UK and US, reporting directly to our CEO. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real mark on how we work, grow, and empower teams, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

You’ll set the direction for and be accountable for the full people agenda at Founders Pledge—spanning from long-term strategy to day-to-day operations, across hiring, performance, compliance, culture, and beyond.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategic HR leadership:
    • Act as a trusted advisor, coach, and sounding board to the CEO and senior leadership team on all matters related to people and culture.
  • Organizational design and change:
    • Lead initiatives to restructure teams as we scale, ensuring agility and impact.
  • Manager enablement:
    • Coach and support managers in performance management, feedback, and leadership development.
    • Oversee organisational learning and development, including collaboration on our annual global offsite.
  • Talent acquisition and onboarding:
    • Oversee end-to-end hiring and onboarding, ensuring a high-quality experience aligned with our values.
  • Total rewards:
    • Design and oversee competitive, equitable global compensation and benefits, attracting top talent.
  • Employee relations and compliance:
    • Be the key point of contact for employee relations, ensuring legal, ethical, and pastoral obligations are met across UK, US, and Germany.
  • People team leadership:
    • Lead, develop, and inspire a team of four in a distributed environment.
  • Operational excellence:
    • Maintain the headcount model and people budget, collaborating with our CFO.
    • Provide performance data to the CEO.
    • Drive workforce planning and process improvements, leveraging technology and AI.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking for

You’re a seasoned people leader who thrives in fast-moving, scaling organisations—where building things trumps routine maintenance. You’re data-driven, emotionally intelligent, and motivated to shape culture and performance in an organisation that does genuinely meaningful work.

Key Requirements:

  • Significant senior HR/People experience: A track record in People Director or Head of People roles, ideally at scaling SMEs, startups, or non-profits, with experience managing international teams.
  • Expertise in UK and US employment: Deep knowledge of employment law, payroll, and compliance (German experience is a plus).
  • Strategic and operational range: Ability to blend high-level strategy with hands-on execution, with passion for both.
  • Executive influence: Experience coaching, influencing, and partnering with CEOs and executives.
  • People analytics: Comfortable using HR data and analytics to drive decisions.
  • Change management: Proven ability to lead transformation in complex, distributed settings.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: Strong emotional intelligence, trust-building, and sensitivity in managing employee relations.
