ABOUT TRAFALGAR ENTERTAINMENT (TE)

Co-founded by Sir Howard Panter and Dame Rosemary Squire in 2017, Trafalgar Entertainment is a premium international live entertainment business focused on new productions, venue ownership, performing arts education, theatre ticketing, the distribution of live-streaming innovative content and the provision of great theatres where people can come together to share in the experience of live entertainment. Trafalgar Entertainment is home to Trafalgar Theatres, The Chiswick Cinema, Trafalgar Theatre Productions, Trafalgar Releasing, Trafalgar Tickets, London Theatre Direct, Stagedoor, Jonathan Church Theatre Productions, Imagine Theatre and Trafalgar Education (Stagecoach & Drama Kids).

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The People Lead provides expert, proactive and commercially focused People support to Theatre Directors, Productions, managers and employees, with a strong focus on employee relations, policy guidance, and operational delivery. You will be a key partner to Theatre Directors and managers, ensuring consistent application of people policies and supporting a positive employee experience across venues and production teams.

Regular travel across venues and Group locations will be required to support business needs and stakeholder engagement.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Employee Relations

  • Facilitate and support a wide range of employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and performance issues
  • Provide advice to managers on employment law and company policy
  • Ensure cases are managed efficiently, fairly, and in line with best practice

Manager Support & Coaching

  • Act as first point of contact for Theatre Directors and Production teams on people-related queries
  • Coach managers to build capability in handling people issues
  • Support investigations, hearings, and outcomes

Policy & Compliance

  • Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Support audits and compliance requirements

Operational HR Delivery

  • Support onboarding, probation reviews, and employee lifecycle processes
  • Work closely with People Admin and Payroll to ensure accurate data and smooth processes
  • Maintain accurate People records and case documentation
  • Advise and support managers and employees on People systems and platforms, including Staff Savvy, iTrent, and payroll providers, ensuring effective and compliant use
  • Act as a key liaison between the business and People Systems/Payroll teams to resolve system-related queries and issues

Engagement & Culture

  • Support engagement initiatives and local People plans
  • Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive working environment

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Head of People Business Partner and other People Leads on escalated or complex cases
  • Liaise with other People functions to deliver joined-up support

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in a People/ HR Advisor or similar role
  • Strong employee relations knowledge and case management experience
  • Good understanding of UK employment law / Production oversight & payroll requirements
  • Ability to build relationships and influence managers
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Confident communicator with high attention to detail
  • Experience in a multi-site or customer-facing environment desirable
  • Experience using HR systems (e.g. iTrent) and workforce management platforms (e.g. Staff Savvy)
  • Confident supporting managers with system usage and resolving queries across HR and payroll platforms
  • CIPD qualification desirable.
