HR Coordinator – Hybrid Employment (37.5 hours per week) Canterbury, CT1 2XJ

About The Role

Join Psicon as our People & Onboarding Coordinator, an exciting hybrid role based in Canterbury. This position is ideal for an organised and people-focused professional with experience in HR administration, onboarding, or compliance, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

As part of our People & Performance team, you will support a seamless onboarding process, ensure compliance withNHS and legislative standards, and contribute to Learning & Development initiatives to shape our organisation’s exceptional employee experience.


Key Responsibilities

Onboarding Compliance

  • Coordinate the entire offer and onboarding lifecycle, including issuing job offers, contracts, and processing pre-employment checks:
    • Right to work verification
    • Criminal record clearance (DBS checks)
    • Academic/professional qualifications and regulatory registrations
    • Reference checks
  • Work with hiring managers to deliver smart, compliant, and engaging inductions for new starters, including bespoke virtual/in-person sessions.
  • Monitor onboarding timelines, outstanding checks, and risk factors, reporting regressions to senior management.
  • Track probation progress, issue reminders, and escalate any overdue reviews/support cases.
  • Maintain DBS renewal and professional credential trackers, highlighting pending actions to safeguard compliance.
  • Review mandatory training compliance and challenge gaps before submission to regulatory bodies.

Learning & Development Support

  • Provide HR administrative support to Learning & Development, including:
    • Booking training venues, managing logistics, and producing materials
    • Coordinate face-to-face and virtual training sessions
  • Administer Attensi Learning Management System, managing:
    • User enrollments and onboarding
    • Absence/re-entry tracking
    • Learner progress reports
    • Training engagement analysis
  • Work with stakeholders to identify process improvements and refine onboarding/L&D workflows.

General People & Performance Support

  • Act as first point of contact for HR/L&D queries, advocating for employees.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including:
    • Survey administration (e.g., Culture Amp)
    • Reporting findings and facilitating follow-up action
  • Assist with HR projects, training events, and people-focused initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Relevant experience in HR coordination, onboarding, or compliance (2+ years, ideally in a healthcare or regulated environment).
    • Familiarity with NHSियम, GDPR, or Adult Safeguarding policies is a bonus.
  • Compliance expertise:
    • Right-to-work, DBS checks, qualifications registers.
  • Strong ** organisational skills** with a meticulous eye for detail to manage multiple deadlines in a fluid healthcare context.
  • Democratic communication and the ability to foster positive relations across all levels (from managers to new starters).
  • Proficiency in HR management systems (e.g., Attensi) and experience producing accurate tracking reports.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach: independently flags risks while aligning with team goals.
  • Confidentiality awareness with discretion within sensitive data Handling.
  • Years an HR Certificate (CIPD Level 3) study would be advantageous.

Interview & Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will present in person: a 10-minute snapshot addressing portfolio-framed questions, adapting to facilitation challenges. We’ll share guidance materials beforehand.
