About the Role

A People & Onboarding Coordinator role on our People & Performance team in Canterbury is open for application. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with HR administration or coordination experience, enthusiastic about delivering an exceptional employee experience from offer through to onboarding and beyond.

Working closely with the Clinical People Business Partner and Learning & Development team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our onboarding processes are compliant, efficient, and engaging, while providing support for learning activities and wider People initiatives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Onboarding Compliance

  • Manage the end-to-end offer and onboarding process, including issuing offers and contracts, as well as coordinating pre-employment checks such as:
    • Right to work verification
    • DBS checks
    • References
    • Qualifications
    • Professional registrations
  • Coordinate induction activities for new starters, collaborating with hiring managers to ensure a smooth and compliant onboarding experience.
  • Lead engaging new starter induction sessions.
  • Produce regular onboarding compliance reports, monitoring:
    • Turnaround times
    • Outstanding checks
    • Potential risks
  • Provide support for probation processes, including:
    • Tracking review dates
    • Issuing reminders
    • Escalating overdue reviews
  • Maintain compliance tracking for:
    • DBS renewals
    • Professional registrations
    • Mandatory training
    • Ensure risks are identified and addressed promptly

Learning & Development Support

  • Offer daily administrative support for Learning & Development (L&D) activities, including:
    • Scheduling training sessions
    • Coordinating logistics
    • Preparing learning materials
  • Assist in delivering both virtual and face-to-face training sessions.
  • Administer the Learning Management System (Attensi), involving:
    • Maintaining learner records
    • Enrolling colleagues onto training
    • Providing first-line support
  • Produce reports on learner progress and training completion rates.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of onboarding and learning processes throughout the organisation.

General People & Performance Support

  • Act as a first point of contact for routine:
    • People queries
    • Learning & Development requests
    • Provide timely support and escalate more complex matters.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including:
    • Culture Amp survey administration
    • Follow-up activities
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the wider People & Performance team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working in a HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, or HR Advisor role, preferably with exposure to:
    • Onboarding
    • Compliance
    • Learning & Development
  • A strong understanding of pre-employment compliance requirements, including:
    • Right to work checks
    • DBS checks
  • Excellent organisational skills, with:
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build:
    • Positive relationships across all organisational levels
  • Experience using:
    • HR systems
    • Learning Management Systems
    • Ability to produce accurate reports and maintain employee records
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, coupled with an ability to:
    • Work independently
    • Collaborate within a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Preferable but not essential: Experience facilitating or coordinating learning activities.
  • Preferred: Experience in a healthcare or regulated environment.
  • Advantageous: CIPD qualification, or currently working towards one.

Interview Process

Shortlisted candidates will participate in:

  • A 10-minute face-to-face presentation to the interview panel
