About the Role
At Preply, the People team oversees the entire employee journey—from onboarding to career development, compliance, and total rewards. We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on People Operations Lead to lead global People Ops, drive operational excellence, and optimize mobility. Your work will directly impact how Preply scales and the experiences of our 100,000+ employees.
What You’ll Do
Core People Operations
- Shape the global People Ops operating model as Preply scales internationally.
- Lead end-to-end employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, offboarding, contract changes).
- Design and scale people-centred policies and workflows for a fast-growing, distributed team.
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
- Be the primary HR operations contact for global employee queries.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, IT, and People teams to ensure seamless processes.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor a global People Ops team while staying hands-on with execution.
- Set clear expectations, foster high performance, and develop team members.
- Balance strategic vision with operational delivery—bridging gap efficiently.
Operational Excellence & AI Integration
- Drive a high-quality employee experience through scalable, efficient operations.
- Automate manual processes (e.g., onboarding triggers, contract generation, offboarding checklists).
- Build and iterate AI-native workflows—use LLMs and automation tools to handle:
- Employee queries
- Ticket triage
- Policy lookups
- Reduce resolution times without increasing headcount.
- Track and report on key People Ops metrics to drive data-driven improvements.

Stakeholder & Global Mobility
- Build strong partnerships with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Translate complex policies into clear, actionable guidance.
- Manage UK visa sponsorship processes (e.g., Skilled Worker visas, right-to-work compliance).
- Coordinate global mobility programmes with legal and immigration vendors.
- Advisor stakeholders on relocation processes and immigration requirements.
What You Need to Succeed
- Prove you’ve optimised People Ops—especially lifecycle management, policies, and scaling.
- Experience leading a global or fast-growing team, balancing strategy and execution.
- Strong coaching and mentorship skills with a track record of high-performing teams.
- First-hand experience with visa/mobility processes (e.g., UK visas).
- Familiarity with global mobility coordination and cross-border legal/HR relationships.
- Data-driven mindset—ability to analyse metrics and operational pain points.
