People Operations Specialist (Fixed Term Contract – 12 Months, Maternity Cover)

Position Details

  • Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months) – Maternity Cover
  • Location: Fully remote (UK-based)
  • Hours: Full time or part time (minimum of 30 hours per week)
  • Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 (FTE)
  • Mode: Remote work with a professional home working environment

The Role

As a People Operations Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in our People Operations team, supporting both People Services and Learning & Development (L&D), with ad hoc involvement from Talent Acquisition (TA).

You will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee & Associate Journey Management

    • Overseeing onboarding, compliance, offboarding, and contract changes.
    • Ensuring a seamless journey from recruitment to departure.
  • People & L&D Knowledge Centre

    • Owning and developing knowledge centre pages to improve self-served access.
    • Ensuring employees and managers can easily find HR and L&D-related guidance.
  • HR & L&D Support

    • Providing expert advice on systems, policies, processes, and employee marching.
    • Collaborating with Senior People Specialists to support both managers and employees.
  • Project & Initiative Leadership

    • Leading on strategic initiatives such as:
      • Learning & Development
      • Governance & compliance requirements
      • Benefits administration
      • Processing improvements
      • People analytics (collating metrics to drive data-driven decisions)
    • Working closely with cross-functional teams including Clinical Teams, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and Financial & BI teams.

Essential Experience & Skills:

✅ Healthcare Compliance Experience

  • Experience managing DBS checks, professional clinical registrations, employment references, right-to-work documentation, and other employment verifications.

✅ Employee Lifecycle Expertise

  • Strong understanding of people operations, recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding processes.

✅ Customer Service Focus

  • A tracked record of delivering a high level of service aligned with internal SLAs.

✅ HR & L&D Knowledge

  • Good grasp of employment law, HR policies, and L&D processes.

✅ People & Analytics System Proficiency

  • Experience with People platforms (especially Hibob) and data analytics.

✅ Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Ability to work effectively with teams such as: Talent Acquisition, L&D, Payroll, Governance, Finance, and BI specialists.

✅ Project & Cross-Functional Lead

  • Proven ability to lead on projects and initiatives while working cross-functionally.

✅ Core Passions
