CoMind: People Partner (London + Remote US)

About the Role

At CoMind, we are developing a non-invasive neuromonitoring technology that will transform clinical brain monitoring and help diagnose and treat brain disorders, improving patient lives globally.

We’re hiring a People Partner based in London, reporting to our Senior People & Operations Manager, supporting both CoMind HQ and our US remote team. This is an ideal moment to join as we scale, shaping the company’s people foundations as a true generalist role—balancing operational rigor with deep empathy for employees.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manager Coaching

    • Serve as a thought partner to managers, especially those in their first leadership roles.
    • Guide them through critical milestones: first hire, first 1:1s, performance conversations.
    • Exude directness and care, offering unbiased support.
  • Training Design & Delivery

    • Identify skill gaps and develop tailored training programs:
      • Manager fundamentals
      • Performance feedback culture
      • High-impact conversations (hard topics, conflicts).
    • Oversee design and delivery of training, ensuring real engagement.
  • Employee Relations (ER) Case Management

    • Handle full caseload (sickness, performance, grievances) independently.
    • Exercise judgement call discretion, knowing when to escalate and keeping managers aligned throughout.
  • HRIS Ownership & Payroll

    • Manage HiBob or comparable HRIS daily:
      • Ensure data integrity and workflow seamless for joiners/leavers.
      • Generate reports; continuously improves system adoption.
    • Co-own monthly payroll (UK & US), ensuring accuracy:
      • Collaborate with payroll provider, validate data.

  • Onboarding & Offboarding

    • Design scalable experiences for both:
      • Welcome program (joiner journey).
      • Departure strategies (leaver process).
  • Contractor Administration

    • Fully manage contractors’ lifecycle:
      • Draft/adjust contracts.
      • IR35 compliance.
      • Timely issuance/subsequent roll-offs.
  • Policy & Documentation

    • Maintain a live, practical handbook (UK & US compliant):
      • Flag updates that address emerging risks.
      • Draft employee-friendly policies with clear communication.
  • Wellbeing Implementation

    • Lead annual wellbeing programme (UK & US):
      • Awareness campaigns (mental health, stress resilience).
      • Model Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) visibility.
      • Conclude pulse surveys to refine strategies continuously.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Operations-focused People Partner in fast-growth tech companies (proof you operated as a partner, not just a service function).
  • Deep expertise in US and UK employment law (or ability to upskill rapidly).
  • Self-managed ER cases with independent judgement calls—escalate strategically based on scope.
  • Comfort with execution speed—navigates ambiguity; decisions based on gave insights/data, not rigid hierarchy.
  • Proven track record designing and delivering training for mixed audiences.
  • HRIS management experience (HiBob preferred), including employee surveys, compensation aligns and management reporting.
  • Active AI adopter: regularly uses AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) for drafting, policy reviews and training collation. Can articulate concrete examples constructing/deploying these solutions.
  • Exemplary communication skills: writes with clarity; hones into core issues before defaulting to bureaucratic paths.
  • No requirement for official CIPD Level 5—but welcome as a bonus.
