The Role: People Partner (Band 4 - Senior Specialists) (Full-time, permanent position)
Department: People and Culture Line Manager: Senior People Partner Core Working Hours: 36 hours (9am–5pm, Mon–Fri), with an additional flexible hour as agreed
This role delivers a high-quality, inclusive, problem-solving, and people-focused HR service to Royal Museums Greenwich’s managers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
People Advice & Support
- Provide expert, accessible HR advice to managers and employees on:
- People-related matters (recruitment, performance, development)
- Family policies and flexible work
- Annual leave management
- Probation review processes
Processes & Policy Development
- Design, implement, and maintain people-related systems, tools, and processes.
- Conduct consultation with staff to review and refine organisational policies.
- Develop manager guidance packs and staff workshops (e.g., on leadership, inclusion, wellbeing).

Employee Relations (70% of role)
- Manage casework, including:
- Investigations (minute-taking)
- Disciplinary and appeals hearings
- Documentation, including letters and supporting evidence.
- Ensure GDPR compliance and confidentially in all handling.
Wellbeing & Inclusion
- Oversee delivery of the Royal Museums Greenwich Wellbeing Strategy and Wellbeing Champion programme.
- Champion the Disability Confident scheme to ensure organisational accessibility.
- Lead initiatives developing inclusive practices that celebrate differences.
Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
- Proven track record as a generalist HR advisory role or within an HR team, including:
- Reactive and proactive support
- Employee relations casework
- Absence management
- Reasonable adjustments related to disabilities
- Driving employee wellbeing, diversity and inclusion initiatives
- Strong working knowledge of HR Information Systems (HRIS), such as iTrent or equivalents.
Personal Attributes
- Highly organised with prioritisation skills to support colleagues and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates strong confidentiality and GDPR awareness.
- Approachable, problem-solving, and able to build trust with staff at all levels.
Salary & Working Arrangements
- £42,000 per annum (Band 4)
- Flexible/hybrid working options to accommodate role demands.
