In this role, you’ll help support and deliver People projects that tie into our overall business strategy and transformation efforts. You’ll work closely with our Strategic People Partners and the Centre of Excellence (COE) teams, helping them with research and coordinating efforts to come up with practical, value-driven solutions through data collection and analysis. You’ll also be a go-to contact for project teams and stakeholders, taking a hands-on approach to get things done and making sure everything stays on track across different initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting with scoping, planning, and tracking of People projects to ensure on-time delivery within defined scope and value targets.
- Building collaborative relationships across the organisation, providing regular progress updates to the Strategic People Partners and the Projects and Transformation Lead, and helping to unblock blockers.
- Preparing concise project packs, status reports, and change communications, and supporting the execution of change activities where required.
- Maintaining project plans, actions, risks, and dependencies, and supporting risk and issue management with appropriate escalation.
- Providing practical guidance on People policies and procedures relevant to the project, and escalating complex policy questions to subject matter experts as needed.
- Collecting and analysing HR data to identify trends and inform practical recommendations, and producing short, actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
- Coordinating with COEs, Legal, IT, Security, and other functions as needed to ensure data privacy, procurement, and governance requirements are observed in project work.
- Participating in AXA UK wide HR related projects to share learnings and contribute where applicable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
