Job Description
Overview of the Role
Are you passionate about creating exceptional colleague experiences and delivering outstanding customer service? As a People Services Specialist at Sage, you'll play a key role in supporting colleagues, managers, and People team partners across the entire employee lifecycle. You'll be at the heart of our People function, helping to resolve queries, maintain accurate people data, support key initiatives, and continuously improve the way we work.
This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on problem-solving, and is motivated by delivering a seamless and positive experience for colleagues.
Overview of the Team
The People Services team is the first point of contact for people-related support across the business. We work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, HRIS teams, and external partners to deliver efficient, high-quality services that support Sage's people strategy and business goals.
As part of a supportive and customer-focused team, you'll have the opportunity to drive process improvements, contribute to key people initiatives, and help shape an outstanding colleague experience.
Office Location
Newcastle
Hybrid Working - 3 days per week in our Newcastle office and 2 days from home.

Key Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing
- Acting as the first point of contact for colleague queries through ServiceNow, Live Chat, Teams, and other support channels.
- Managing and resolving people-related queries or transferring them to the appropriate teams when required.
- Working with external partners to coordinate and action requests.
- Maintaining accurate colleague data and ensuring our HR systems remain up to date.
- Supporting the delivery of People initiatives aligned to our people plan and business objectives.
- Partnering with Payroll to ensure accurate data changes and a smooth monthly payroll process.
- Providing first-line advice and guidance to colleagues and managers in line with company policies and procedures.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and collaborating with HRIS and continuous improvement teams to enhance the colleague experience.
- Partnering with Talent Acquisition to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience for new colleagues.
- Applying commercial awareness and business understanding to provide practical, business-focused solutions.
Experience You'll Bring
- Previous experience in an HR or People Services environment with a strong understanding of core HR practices.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences.
- A customer-first mindset and a proven ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and confidence in investigating and resolving queries.
- Excellent attention to detail with the confidence to challenge inaccuracies and resolve issues appropriately.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills, including the ability to analyse and manipulate data.
- Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate employee records.
- A continuous improvement mindset and enthusiasm for driving positive change.
