People Support Co-Ordinator

Location: HMP Millsike

Salary: £32,459.42

Contract: 40 hours per week

Job Overview

Mitie Care & Custody (C&C) is driven by a bold vision: to establish HMP Millsike as a place of restoration and rehabilitation, where prisoners can unlock their full potential and make meaningful, positive changes in their lives.

We are seeking an experienced administrative coordinator to support a key strategic initiative at HMP Millsike around Visa Sponsorship Compliance. This role sits at the centre of a newly introduced and highly regulated area of work, ensuring that all visa sponsorship activity is managed in full compliance with Home Office requirements.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to workforce stability in a complex operational environment, while developing specialist expertise in regulatory compliance and governance.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will provide essential administrative and compliance support across all visa sponsorship activity. Your work will help ensure that processes are robust, auditable and aligned with UKVI regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Maintaining accurate records for all sponsored employees, ensuring audit readiness at all times
  • Monitoring visa expiry dates and supporting timely case management
  • Conducting regular compliance checks (e.g. attendance, role changes, absence monitoring)
  • Supporting reporting requirements and ensuring any changes are escalated within required timeframes
  • Managing data and producing reports for governance meetings and internal oversight
  • Supporting audit and assurance activity, including tracking and resolving compliance issues
  • Working as part of the onsite People Support team, liaising with wider mitie HR teams operational managers and external partners (e.g. legal partners)
  • Supporting the development of tracking tools and administrative systems
  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding of new starters.

About You

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable working in a regulated environment.

This is a site-based role, based at HMP Millsike working Monday to Friday.

Essential

  • Experience in an administrative or HR support role
  • Strong IT skills (particularly Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage accurate records
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work at pace to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Attain Enhanced Level 1 Ministry of Justice Vetting Clearance and Enhanced DBS

Desirable

  • Experience in compliance, governance or regulatory environments
  • Experience working with sensitive or confidential data
  • Knowledge of visa sponsorship or immigration processes (training will be provided)
