Finance, Planning & Performance (FP&P) underpins Customer Services Group (CSG) by delivering evidence-driven insights that shape high-quality service delivery for millions of customers.
Performance Insight and Forecasting Analyst – Leeds
You’ll harness data, analysis, and foresight to:
- Analyze performance, demand forecasting, and operational strategy
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across operations and leadership
- Convert complex insights into clear communication for strategic decision-making
This role suits analytically-focused professionals who thrive under pressure and can bridge data with real-world outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-impact analysis supporting planning, forecasting, and performance-informed decisions across HMRC Customer Services
- Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and fit-for-purpose Application across diverse operational datasets
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities using both historical and predictive analysis
- Translate technical data insights into digestible formats for senior executives and operational teams
- Operate within governance frameworks, providing data quality assurance while balancing flexibility and responsiveness

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
You possess:
- Applied analytical experience with performance/forecasting metrics to support decision-making
- Validation skills for data integrity (Excel/Power BI/SQL tools a plus)
- Ability to simplify technical narratives for written/verbal audiences (org charts, dashboards, board briefings)
- Multitasking & prioritization to handle competing deadlines and shifting priorities
- Stakeholder engagement proficiency at all levels—balancing intelligent challenge with evidence-based collaboration
- Advanced numeracy and skills using tools like Excel (advanced techniques) and/or statistical/executive dashboards
