Here at Marlborough we are looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative temporary Performance Analyst to join our Performance team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring both client-facing and internal reporting is delivered accurately and on time. Working across multiple contracts and closely with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders, you will be responsible for producing high-quality reports that provide clear insight into operational performance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys turning complex performance data into meaningful reporting that supports business success.
Key Responsibilities
Client Monthly Performance Reporting (externally focused)
Produce client facing monthly performance reports, showing how we have performed against the KPIs outlined in the contract. This involves downloading data from the client’s asset management system, analysing it, and folding in further evidence from operational supervisors and various operational supporting teams. Ensure reports accurately evidence contractual compliance and KPI performance. Deliver the weekly engagement cycle with operational delivery teams to understand performance trends and mitigations ahead of monthly reporting. This can extend to providing weekly look ahead reports to help supervisors programme their works. Attend client meetings on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis maintaining.
Contract Performance Reviews (CPR) (internally focused)
Produce Contract Performance Review (CPR) reports which the directors use to assess the performance of contracts and the operations managers who lead them. Pull together CPR reports end‑to‑end, including: Collating performance data from multiple source teams and systems. Personally preparing and inputting selected datasets where required. Ensuring outputs are formatted, quality‑checked, and suitable for senior internal review. Ensure CPR reports clearly support Board‑level decision‑making through insight, clarity, and consistency.

Stakeholder Engagement
Foster strong working relationships with operational teams especially operational supervisor senior management, and clients. Translate complex performance data into clear messages suitable for different audiences. Support operational and senior leaders by providing timely insight into performance risks and trends.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
Able to analyse bulk data sets through the application of logic and analysis measures. Advanced IT skills, particularly rule-based analysis systems such as Microsoft Excel. Demonstrable ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and competing priorities. Able to form good working relationships with wide range of operational supervisors from across the company. Comfortable working hands‑on with data at the same time as developing relationships with key stakeholders. Highly organised, detail‑focused, and committed to producing high‑quality outputs.
Desirable
Performance management experience, ideally within highways term maintenance or a similar operational environment. Conceptual understanding of XLOOKUP, IF, pivot tables and charts in Excel. Understanding of KPI‑based contractual performance and evidence requirements. Experience working with asset management or performance reporting systems such as Symology and Confirm would be beneficial. Familiarity with MoSCoW prioritisation or similar workload management frameworks.
