Performance Manager (Accelerate) – Maths & English Tuition

About the Role

Hybrid | Field-Based Across the UK | Fixed-Term (12 Months) | £40–55k Start Date: Summer 2026

Explore Learning is looking for a commercially driven Performance Manager (Accelerate)—someone who thrives on coaching others, solving challenges at pace, and using data to unlock the full potential of our Maths and English tuition centres across the UK.

This field-based role involves regular weekly travel, allowing you to work closely with Centre Managers, guide them in delivering outstanding outcomes for children, families, and colleagues, and foster continuous improvement.

The Performance Manager (Accelerate) will focus on centres that are already performing near or at potential but aim to unlock further growth in a larger group.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Own the growth, success, and profitability of a portfolio of centres, ensuring high-quality delivery, consistent operations, and strong commercial performance.
  • Use data-driven insights to diagnose issues, prioritise actions, and drive targeted, impactful decisions.
  • Set clear performance expectations and translate complex insights into actionable, practical guidance for leaders.

Leadership & Development

  • Build trusted, collaborative relationships with Centre Managers, fostering psychological safety, accountability, and transparency.
  • Coach and develop leaders, focusing on:
    • Strengthening their judgement and decision-making
    • Stretching their capability and talent
    • Encouraging continuous growth and curiosity
  • Act boldly to address performance challenges, removing barriers and supporting teams in sustaining long-term improvement.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Experience & Skills

✔ Proven experience leading teams and driving multi-site or stakeholder performance. ✔ Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable strategies. ✔ Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the confidence to constructively challenge when needed. ✔ A coaching mindset, focused on developing capability and building confidence in others. ✔ Experience handling difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism. ✔ Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, with high organisation and resilience.

Logistics & Benefits

Where & When

  • Hybrid & field-based role with regular weekly UK travel.
  • Fixed-term contract (approx. 12 months), full-time (Monday–Friday).
  • Centre allocation confirmed at start—may adjust based on performance needs.

Compensation

  • Salary: £45–55k (dependent on experience).
  • Start date: Summer 2026.

Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Strict safer recruitment requirements, including:
    • Enhanced DBS check (disclosures required per DBS guidelines).
    • Satisfactory references taken directly from referees.
    • Strict right-to-work compliance (no sponsorship available).
  • Full employment history verification required (gaps must be clearly explained).
