Role: Performance Marketing Manager

Reports to: Head of Performance & Ecommerce

Working pattern: Hybrid

Location: Head Office, Northampton

ABOUT MY 1ST YEARS

My 1st Years is one of the UK's leading provider of high-quality personalised gifts for babies and children — as worn by Prince George, Luna Legend and Blue Ivy. We remain true to our values of top quality, excellent value and second-to-none customer service.

THE OPPORTUNITY

You'll sit client-side, owning the relationship with our performance agencies, building a rigorous testing and accountability framework, and ensuring every pound of spend is working as hard as it can. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with real P&L influence from day one.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Day-to-day management of paid media agencies across Paid Search (Google/Bing), Paid Social (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest) and Affiliates — holding them to account on ROAS, CPA and incrementality, not just delivery metrics.
  • Own budget pacing and channel allocation across the annual spend, working closely with the Head of Performance & Ecommerce to make real-time reallocation decisions.
  • Build and maintain a structured creative testing roadmap — briefing in new assets, running A/B tests across ad formats, and translating results into actionable creative direction.
  • Lead weekly and monthly agency performance reviews, producing a clear view of what's working, what isn't, and what the recommended action is.
  • Develop a rigorous approach to attribution — understanding the limits of last-click and building confidence in incrementality measurement over time.
  • Identify wasted spend and redeployment opportunities proactively — benchmarking agency performance against industry standards and flagging underperformance early.
  • Stay ahead of channel changes and emerging paid formats — bringing POVs on new opportunities (e.g. connected TV, retail media, influencer amplification) before being asked.
  • Collaborate closely with the CRM, Trading Manager and Brand & Content team to ensure paid messaging is aligned with onsite trading moments and seasonal calendars.
  • Contribute to the wider commercial picture by translating paid media data into insight that informs product, trading and brand decisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 4–6 years of performance marketing experience, in-house at a DTC/ecommerce brand or agency-side with significant client ownership.
  • Proven experience managing or overseeing paid media budgets of £1m+ across multiple channels simultaneously.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager and at least one affiliate/partnership platform.
  • Analytically rigorous — comfortable in GA4, confident building performance reports, and able to tell a clear story from complex data.
  • Commercially sharp — you think in revenue and GP, not just clicks and impressions.
  • A natural challenger: you won't accept agency recommendations at face value and know how to push back constructively.
  • Experience with creative testing methodology is a genuine differentiator — bonus if you've worked with UGC or have a view on what makes performance creative work in DTC.
  • Familiarity with attribution tools and incrementality testing is advantageous.
