Senior Performance Test Engineer (NFT) β Inside IR35

Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Performance Test Analyst to join a high-profile programme, focusing on ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of critical web applications and APIs.
This is a hands-on role suited to a seasoned performance engineer with a strong background in designing and executing performance testing strategies across complex distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, and endurance tests
- Analyse system performance and identify bottlenecks such as slow response times, high resource utilisation and scalability constraints
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and delivery teams to define performance test strategies and benchmarks
- Develop and maintain automated performance test frameworks and scripts
- Analyse results and provide clear, actionable optimisation recommendations
- Support continuous improvement by embedding performance testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Provide guidance and mentoring on performance testing best practices

Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience with performance testing tools such as NeoLoad, LoadRunner, JMeter
- Strong expertise using monitoring/observability tools (Dynatrace = highly desirable)
- Solid understanding of web technologies (HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs), performance tuning and optimisation techniques
- Experience working in cloud environments (Azure or AWS)
- Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g. Python, Java, or Groovy)
- Proven track record testing high-volume, distributed systems
- Experience with Foundry testing and chaos testing

Desirable Experience
- Service virtualisation tools (e.g. Parasoft Virtualize, Wiremock)
- Experience in complex enterprise or regulated environments
