Performance Tester

Contract Length: 3 Months

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer to join a high-profile project focused on a modern web platform. This is a hands-on contract role where you'll be responsible for defining the performance testing strategy and delivering end-to-end performance testing across a microservices-based environment.

Working closely with engineering, architecture, and QA teams, you'll ensure the platform is scalable, reliable, and performs effectively under varying levels of demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the overall performance testing strategy for a web-based platform.
  • Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and capacity tests.
  • Create and maintain performance test scripts using JMeter or similar performance testing tools.
  • Analyse test results and identify performance bottlenecks across applications and services.
  • Work with development and DevOps teams to investigate and resolve performance issues.
  • Test distributed systems and microservices-based applications to ensure scalability and resilience.
  • Produce clear reports, recommendations, and performance metrics for technical and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of performance testing processes and best practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
