Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and rigorous lessons in Performing Arts/Theater, aligned with school curriculum standards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression through theater.
- Utilize a variety of assessment methods to monitor and support student progress in both practical performance and theoretical aspects of theater arts.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and support all students in achieving their theatrical potential.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding progress and achievements.
- Produce and direct student performances, including class showcases, school productions, and theater events.
- Participate actively in professional development to stay current with best practices in Performing Arts education and contemporary theater trends.
- Contribute to the school community by supporting extracurricular theater activities, performances, drama clubs, and collaborative initiatives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Theater Education, Performing Arts, Drama, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience in theater arts.
- Strong knowledge and experience teaching theater arts, including performance techniques, theater theory, script analysis, and production.
- Proficient in directing and producing student performances, including casting, coaching, and stage management.
- Proficient in integrating technology and digital tools to enhance theater instruction (i.e., video recording, lighting software, digital sound).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and build positive relationships with students.
- Experience with inquiry-based, student-centered, and process-oriented teaching approaches is an asset.
