Flute Teacher (Peripatetic)
Location: Cumnor House School Contract: Fixed Term – Part-Time Hours: Tuesday, 8:40am–9:25am (term time) + sessional hours based on pupil demand Salary: £44 per hour Start Date: September 2026

Role Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to inspire our children. Your role will be to deliver high-quality individual and group flute tuition to pupils, fostering musical enthusiasm, confidence, and progression. You will contribute to growing flute provision within the school while enriching its musical culture through performances and collaborative activities.

Key Responsibilities
What you will be doing:
- Deliver high-quality individual and small-group flute lessons to pupils
- Contribute to the Year 3 Instrumental Scheme through engaging group teaching (fixed session: Tuesday 8:40am–9:25am, term time)
- Support the development and growth of flute provision at the school
- Prepare pupils for performances, assessments, and musical progression
- Participate in school concerts, ensembles, and wider musical life
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with parents and staff
- Encourage a lifelong interest in music, enthusiasm, and confidence
- Collaborate with the Director of Music and peripatetic team
- Deliver individual flute lessons (arranged and funded privately by parents)
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong proficiency in flute performance
- Experience teaching flute, ideally to primary-aged pupils
- Music qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)
- Experience delivering both individual and group tuition
