Job Title: Flute Teacher (Peripatetic)
Contract: Fixed Term / Part-Time
Hours: Tuesday, 8:40am–9:25am (term time) + additional sessional hours based on pupil demand
Salary: £44 per hour
Start Date: September 2026

Role Purpose
This ennyiring opportunity invites a passionate music educator to inspire the next generation at Cumnor House School. Your role will be to deliver high-quality flute tuition—both one-on-one and in small groups—while fostering musical skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of music. You’ll support the school’s flute provision, contribute to collaborative music programmes, and enrich the school’s musical culture through performances and interactive programs.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching Delivery
- Deliver high-calibre flute lessons for individual students and small group classes
- Work with Year 3 Instrumental Scheme (held every Tuesday, 8:40am–9:25am during term time)
- Prepare and arrange private lessons—these sessions are arranged and funded directly by parents
- Support pupil performances, assessments, and musical progression
Support & Engagement
- Help expand and refine flute provision across the school
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with parents and staff
- Foster enthusiasm, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music
Collaborative Presence
- Work closely with the Director of Music and peripatetic team members
- Contribute to school concerts, ensemble projects, and broader performances
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications & Experience
- Proficiency in flute performance (strong instrumental ability essential)
- Teaching experience preferred—especially with primary-aged pupils
- Music qualification or equivalent professional experience (desirable)
- Experience delivering both individual and group lessons (ideal)
