Peripatetic Registered Manager - Children’s Homes

Peripatetic Registered Manager | Multiple Homes | North West

Create lasting change within a children’s residential care leader.

At A Wilderness Way, we design therapeutic environments where children rebuild trust and gain confidence. We seek an experienced Peripatetic Registered Manager to enhance care standards across multiple homes, ensuring child safety, seamless leadership, and exceptional outcomes.

About The Role

Reporting to the Regional Director, this position requires dynamic, values-driven leadership across the region. Your work will focus on:

  • Delivering excellence in care – Overseeing admissions, placements, and outcomes to meet each home’s Statement of Purpose.
  • Elevating standards – Ensuring high-quality care planning, performance, and compliance with Children’s Home Regulations, Quality Standards, and SCCIF.
  • Empowering teams – Mentoring Assistant Managers and staff while fostering a culture where children’s voices shape their placement.
  • Building strategic partnerships – Collaborating closely with local authorities and external agencies for better child outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership across multiple homes: Provide consistent, high-quality management to ensure child wellbeing and operational excellence.
  • Care delivery & compliance: Monitor placements, risk assessments, and therapeutic interventions against regulatory requirements.
  • Staff development: Train, motivate, and retain teams to sustain best-practice care.
  • Partnerships & advocacy: Partner with social workers, schools, and health professionals to advocate for children.
  • Administrative oversight: Manage rotas, budgets, and governance efficiently.
  • Hybrid on-call support: Be available to respond to urgent situations (evenings/weekends).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
